A skincare routine is something every person should follow – it ensures your skin stays hydrated and glowing. Your eyes will look youthful and rested, and it makes sure you really get to know your body.
However, for some of us, a skincare routine just doesn’t cut it. No matter what we try, it’s just too hard to reduce the appearance of those wrinkles or dark spots. The oily skin on your forehead, or the dry skin around your eyes and lips, really stresses you out.
But what can you do? You’ve tried everything, right? Well, there’s a good chance you’ve forgotten a few things, so let’s go through them below.
Switch Out Your Active Ingredients
Active ingredients are what we’re buying skincare products for – they don’t tend to come as tinctures on their own, and it’s good to use a more watered down, gentler version. So check what the active ingredients in your favourite products are – are they really working out for you?

Maybe the ingredients in your skincare routine aren’t enough for you, and need swapping out for new ones? For example, if you’re a big retinol fan, maybe you need to use other Vitamin A derivatives? Maybe a more natural ingredient, that’ll be easier for your skin to absorb, is what’s really needed here?
Visit a Professional
A professional is going to have a lot more hardware to put to good use than you do. They’re going to know how to use it too, so why not make an appointment with a local beauty clinic? Push the boat out here!

Think of it as a spa day, or a little treat for yourself (because it’s quite luxurious to book in at one of these places!), and take a day to really give your skin the attention it deserves. If you book at the right time, you’ll be sure to score a discount too – for example, at Bondi Lash & Beauty Clinic, the anti aging treatment they offer is regularly on offer, so why not give it a try?
Check on Your Products
Then it’s time to do a little bit of admin – check on the skincare routine products you’re using, and see if, 1. they’re still in date, and 2. they’re being stored correctly. Because the way you handle your skincare products can change how effective they are, and you may have been mismanaging them thus far!
If your products are stored in the sun, get them out of there, and put them somewhere darker and cooler. And you can easily check if they’re expired – look for the little pot featuring a number followed by the letter ‘m’ to see what the PAO is, and if it’s still good for use.

Sometimes a skincare routine just won’t do it, but don’t let this get you down! There are plenty of ways to take care of your skin out there, and you’ve just got to find what works for you. Keep the above ideas in mind.
