The International Hair Awards are undeniably the premier place to see globally relevant hair fashion. Once again, Adelaide-based hair maestro Uros Mikic has been placed as a dual-finalist. The Association of International Professional Press (AIPP) Awards has placed Uros’ creations in Best Men’s Collection and Best Commercial Collection categories.

Established in 1997, the AIPP Awards recognise outstanding achievement by professional hairdressers in photography and presentation of their work. Judges include 74 magazine editors from 35 countries representing nearly all trade publications for hairdressers. This is Uros’ 2nd consecutive finalist nomination in the AIPP’s which boasts a new participation record with over 600 photographic collections from 34 countries.

Already a multiple award winner, Uros Mikic has been nominated for his Streets of New York and Urban Queens collections. Understated elegance and a raw urban edge influence the hair artistry of these highly wearable styles.

Uros Mikic says he was influenced by the streets of New York City and the originality he witnessed. Personified by strong structures, Urban Queens was deconstructed to achieve a 70’s Bohemian-inspired look with softness and movement. The Streets of New York were more about texture, form and sharp geometrical shapes. Uros introduced intriguing details with braids and sharp lines fading to simple unique cuts bespoke for the individual.
