Self love is not something you can pick up at the supermarket or for which you can take a tablet. However, you CAN get it with a few simple tips. Yes… you deserve it!
Are you always so focused on other parts of your life that your forget the most important part? Self love. If you don’t love yourself you can’t love others. Is it time to put a bit of effort into loving yourself?
We waste our lives stressing about the material things that we think we have to worry about. Getting up for work, making plans on the weekend, not missing any bills etc.
But with all of this planning and stressing, our bodies take more of a toll than you might realise. A bit of self love helps us to remember who we are, be at one with ourselves, and to find our purpose in life.
Our purpose in life is not to go to work and put food on the table, there’s so much more to it than that. There’s a life to be lived that we’re just letting pass by. There’s memories to make that we’re missing out on.
And there’s times to be happy that we’ll just never see because we let the stress of everyday life get in the way! So, we’re about to stop all of this, and show you a life that’s worth living.
One that’s more focused on being carefree, rather than being focused on the tasks we have to do in life. Here’s how we think you can focus on a bit of self love, and why you should do it.
Self Love = Time To Yourself
If you want to have a little bit of self love, you’re going to have to find some time to yourself, which for most of you is going to be a thing of the past.
Whether you still live at home, or whether you’ve moved out, you’ll still probably find that the time you have to yourself doing what you want dramatically reduces as you get older. It definitely does reduce when you get into a relationship.
Don’t get us wrong, getting into a relationship is one of the best things that you can do for your mental health, and arguably the worst. It gives you a sense of belonging in the world, and the immense love you will feel and receive will be like nothing you’ve ever had before.
But, with all of this time being taken off your hand with housework, relationships, friendships, and your career, where are you fitting in a bit of you time?
An hour in the bath at the end of every day doesn’t count. You need to be allowing yourself a set amount of time each night to actually do something you enjoy doing.
Read a book that you’ve always wanted to read, go to a class, go to the gym… the list could go on. Self love really does start by doing something you love. Don’t lose that side of you that used to have a passion before everything in life got a little bit crazy.
Self Love = Taking Away The Stresses In Life
Stress, stress, stress. We think that on a daily basis, you must think about all of the different stresses in life a thousand times over. Whether it’s the stress about how messy the house is going to be when you get in, what you’re going to have for dinner, or how you’re going to be able to afford dinner.
These are such common stresses that every single person has in life, but we want to try and take them away for you. We want you to think about whether the stresses in life are really stresses.
Are you worried about money because you have none left, or because you won’t have enough to buy that dress that you’ve been eyeing up? We’re always so stressed with money because we don’t feel like we’re spending it on ourselves, when in fact we’re spending it on our freedom every day!
Don’t worry about the materialistic things with money, be happy that you have a home that’s furnished, with food, and with warmth! Another huge stress for people is definitely work, and we want to knock that one right out of the park. You can’t spend your life being stressed about a job.
If you find yourself rushed off your feet, not even paid well, and hating life every single day, then quit as soon as you get your next paycheck.
A risk we know, but there are thousands of jobs out there waiting for you, you just have to have the balls to go and get one!
Self Love = Taking Care Of Your Body
If you want to truly feel self love, you’re going to have to take care of yourself. So many of us abuse our bodies on a weekly basis, and wonder why we feel no love. We shovel junk food after takeaway into our bodies, and sit on the sofa watching TV with that sluggish feeling watching over us.
So, take a few moments to think about your diet. All you have to do is cut out some of the fat and junk food, and swap it with a bit of health. Within two weeks you will feel better about yourself, and more of a love towards your body. If exercise isn’t your scene, why not do something relaxing that’s also good for your body.
Yoga is a popular form of exercise that many people do from the comfort of their own home, and in classes. As well as being excellent for your body, it helps clear your mind and your soul. You can get Mala Beads, yoga necklaces, and other yoga equipment to help you with the practice of yoga.
All you need to do is follow an online tutorial to see what to do, or even get yourself to a class! Hot yoga classes are really good for relaxation as well as burning some calories.
Self Love = Exploring The World
Finally, we believe that you should really get out there and explore the world. The more time you spend exploring the world, the more time you’re spending realising who you are.
You find out what you like, what you dislike, and if you go for solo travel, you really do discover who you are as a person!
