Mr Jason Grant has become one of Australia’s favourite interior stylists whose name now regularly appears alongside celebrities and iconic brands. From his early childhood in Tasmania to living in Melbourne, working for several of Australia’s leading home & interiors magazines and now living the dream in Bondi, the ‘Mr Jason Grant’ brand is itself on the rise.

I was delighted to have a chat with Mr Jason Grant on my Fashion + Home radio show and learn more about the laid-back style and future plans of the man with an eye for the interesting. Jason lived in Tasmania until he was eight years old where the lifestyle and beauty captured his young imagination. Moving to Melbourne eventually opened up a new world of styling and interiors with Jason working for leading magazines including Inside Out, Real Living, Vogue Australia, Belle, Australian House & Garden, and more both here and overseas.

As an increasingly sought-after stylist, the idea of Mr Jason Grant came about as a way to distinguish himself from other people working in similar fields. He says it felt different and was a vehicle to build what has become the ‘Mr Jason Grant’ brand.

Moving to Bondi enhanced Jason’s love of the ocean with blue and white being a distinct trademark for some of his styling work. With a laid-back lifestyle that’s quintessentially Australian, the Mr Jason Grant magic has touched iconic and small brands including David Jones, Myer, Country Road, Freedom Australia, West Elm, Target, Domayne (my absolute fave), Palm Beach Collection, Major Minor Sydney, Armadillo & Co, to name a few.

Inspired by Bondi and the world around him, Mr Jason Grant can often be seen with his dog, Sophie, and camera or iphone in hand casting a trained eye on unsuspecting objects.

Motivated by his own passion, Jason approached Hardie Grant books with an idea that became ‘A Place Called Home’ which was followed by ‘Holiday at Home’. A third exciting book will be published this year.

Jason says he’s a stylist who photographs, as opposed to a photographer who styles, and living his dream life has opened up amazing opportunities. In February, Mr Jason Grant will launch his debut collection for the home at mjgstore.com and he’ll be showcasing at Life Instyle from 18 – 22 Feb, 2016 in Sydney.
That laidback lifestyle will come in handy as Jason embarks on perhaps his biggest career year yet with a third book, debut home collection and styling for renowned and burgeoning brands. Jason did mention to me that he loves smaller brands and was delighted to work with Major Minor Sydney. I mentioned a small brand I had featured here on Don’t Call Me Penny, Into The Fold, and he knew them. Fabulous.
We are both always looking for new and adventurous brands, so if you ARE one, please contact me. I’ll be happy to pass on your details also to Mr Jason Grant.

So if you’re in Sydney for Life inStyle from Feb 18 – 22, 2016, call in an say ‘Hi’ to Mr Jason Grant and tell him Penelope sent you 😉
