The sweetest re-love is the recycling that delights and surprises. Look past what’s in front of you and visualise what can be created in the future.

If you’re the type who finds fabulous furniture on the side of the road or snags unique eBay buys for the sweetest re-love then you probably love Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It’s the no-primer no-sanding “let’s have fun right now” paint created by an impatient recycler; Annie Sloan.

One of the hottest colour trends of the season are Dusty Pinks which play nice with rose gold, green, grey, orange, rich blue, and white. Create new projects this weekend for walls and furniture that will glow with sweetest re-love.

With tedious priming and sanding taken out of the equation, you can leap in with gay abandon and colour your world in a single day. take inspiration from the Annie Sloan Dusty Pinks in Antoinette for Paloma. Pair with Amsterdam Green or Barcelona Orange, or one of many other exclusive Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colours.

I’m finding in my work as an Interior Designer, that people are crazy for mid-century modern. This is perfect because you’ll find cool mid-century modern fabrics, ceramics, furniture, and lighting at the average op-shop. Why? Because the people who have them want something newer and the people who want them can procure them pretty cheap.

PLUS many modern retailers are producing replica mid-century modern items or bringing out furniture with a modern twist (even though we KNOW their inspiration is clearly is mid-century modern) Try Brosa Furniture or Interior Secrets for a beautiful range of new, but vintage inspired, furniture and accessories.

But I digress. All I’m saying is that if you want to play around with chalk paint, it’s easy AND you could buy a cheap piece of furniture on which to practice. I have an Annie Sloan mini project kit I’ll be playing around with this weekend, so I’ll post those results.

An Added Extra

Interior Designer, Linda Holt, transformed a favourite piece for one of her clients by having her buffet painted in an Annie Sloan custom blend of Paris Grey and Old White. The top hutch was removed. Materials and labor was $US500 so well worth it.
