I do love winter because I’m a fan of patterned stockings, luxurious scarves, leather biker jackets and enveloping knits. Sometimes ‘rugging up’ against the cold isn’t high on our list of priorities, I understand that. But when you can rug up in a hot colour with cool accessories then maybe it’s worth it. I have found some fabulous Street Style Red Inspo in combinations that include skinny jeans, flared pants, midi skirts and even shorts.
There is no doubt that red looks dynamic with black. If you have a pair of black skinny jeans or a black biker jacket you cam mix up your look in many ways. Add a scarf, heeled ankle boots or flat knee-high boots, and a clutch and you’re good to go. You can also add some animal print – leopard is the most popular – or use black as the backdrop to a stunning red jacket. And a red coat looks fabulous with boyfriend jeans as well.
It’s not just about black skinny jeans, black stockings or boyfriend jeans. A red coat is beautifully enhanced by black jeans or pants, or wear matching red jacket and pants with an edgy t-shirt. Similarly, red jeans are a hot item this season too. Tone down red with black, white, camel, even blue.
For street style red inspo plaid, checks & tartans are also great options to add a bit of street grunge to your outfit. Similarly, khaki looks great with red.
We are seeing ankle boots, knee-high flat boots, animal print boots, heavier strappy sandals that ‘ground’ the look for winter as well as black pumps and brogues. But remember, you can add some red via your shoes too.
Have fun with skirts too. If you like a longer hemline then look out for more dramatic looks to make a statement. Voluminous skirts should be balanced with a fitted top or add interest to shorter hemlines with sheer fabric (very on-trend).
And it’s not all about black, white and camel. Pink looks stunning paired with red or go opposite on the colour wheel pairing red with apple green. The effects are very dynamic, and totally chic.
Of course, you can never go wrong with a great red coat. From blue-based reds to burgundy, pick the tone that suits your skin tone and colouring; there are plenty of choices for street stye red inspo. And Solange Knowles isn’t afraid to mix tones either; she’s one stylish lady.
There’s plenty of street style red inspo and well-priced stores from where you can but pieces to mix and match with your current wardrobe. Grab some ideas and go shopping.
