Seriously swoon-worthy designer, Phillipe Starck, has impacted many genres of design. So when I saw the ME by Starck washbasins I knew it could only mean ONE THING – seriously modern bathrooms.

Personally, I am a big fan of concrete slab interiors. Sure, concrete can be cold BUT it can be FABULOUS. Concrete may be lacking in warmth but your decor doesn’t have to. Candana Bathroom Wares in Wooolahra, Sydney, stock some of the most prestige bathroom fittings in the world, so it’s no happy accident they have chosen the luxurious ME by Starck furniture washbasins for their clients. Created by Duravit, the basins feature in a modern yet timeless bathroom series that perfectly suit a wide variety of designs and lifestyles.

Designer Philippe Starck, in creating the ME by Starck series with Duravit, sought to produce perfectly designed forms that were neither intrusive nor dominating. Together, their aim was to create a series that provided the framework to the bathroom, allowing user’s to inject their own personal style around it.

The washbasins in the ME by Starck range radiate ease and stability in form. The basins are deep and generous making them practical and functional for everyday use. The basins also flaunt thin edges, which appear seamless from every angle.

The L-cube vanity units in the ME by Starck collection have handle-free self-closing functions and the option of a pullout compartment. Given bathroom storage is important and space is a usually a premium, the vanity storage is particularly spacious. There’s an array of sizes and high-end finishes, including matte white, anthracite oak and dolomiti grey. The vanities are floor standing with chrome feet or a plinth panel, thus giving the illusion of a more spacious bathroom.

There’s also the two vanity basin option, flush-mounted on a polished, locally manufactured concrete console.

For additional luxury, you’ll find the L-cube Cape Cod mirrors with glare-free LED light frames and on-off infrared sensors featuring dimming functions. The mirrors are available in up to eight different widths, ideal for bathrooms of any size.
