While I was researching ways to hang art and create displays, Typo (that cool shop that sells stuff for writing and creating) sent me a really sweet idea for Mother’s Day (or any day, really). And I wanted to share it with YOU!
The thoughtful people at Typo suggest talking a walk down memory lane and finding some of your favourite photos of your Mum. You can also find miniature pegs, twine and decorative paper at Typo. Then;
– purchase a frame, take out the backing and empty the contents
– using the photos (or similar flat memorabilia) play around with the twine, pegs and decorative paper until you are happy with the way your frame looks – this is a mock-up.
– NOW re-create your masterpiece by winding he twine around the frame’s internal hooks. Cut off the loose ends and use the pegs to hang your photos, letters and mementos
– Voila! A love frame for Mum (or anyone really)
It also got me thinking about how we display the art work our kids seem to create endlessly; and of course we want to show them off. So here are some interesting ideas I thought you might like. You can even include your love frame for Mum.
Children’s art can be so appealing and a great way to add vibrancy and colour to walls without spending a lot of money. You may choose to put children’s art in a frame or hang it more freestyle; the choice is yours. Popular spaces for children’s art includes kitchen walls, stairwells, games room and studys. Definitely lots of spots for a love frame for Mum.
What do you think of these great ideas? Will you try to make a love frame for mum yourself?
