Gold and white interiors are fresh, beautiful and very feminine. Whether you want a little or a lot, there are chic gold and white interior design ideas for every room.

Bedrooms seem to top the wish list with bathrooms a close second. I’ve chosen some gold and white interiors to inspire you in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

Bedroom Inspiration:

Camilla Molders has chosen a golden sheen for this WallSmart Wilderness wallpaper and it works beautifully with the beige headboard because there is lots of white on the walls, bedding, lamp and bedside tables. The unusual chandelier almost mimics the lines and circles of the wallpaper, so it ties in perfectly. This is one my favourite gold and white interiors because it’s beautifully balanced.

If you are renting then you’ll love what Lindye Galloway did in this bedroom. She started with a fresh coat of bright white paint on the walls then matched bright white linens and bed tables to make the room as ‘white bright’ as possible. She then used gold polka dot decals on all three angles of the ceiling. The decals are removable, so easy for renters. I also love the texture created with the faux fur and gold scalloped throw pillows, and the clever pop of blue in the headboard.

This is my favourite bedroom inspiration, from M. Elle Design. White is crisp and can feel like a cool colour (even though it has no true hue). However, when used in the bedroom there is a cleanliness to white that is warmed by the gold accessories and can basket under the rustic grey side table. It’s an inviting look, not a cold one.

Ivy Lane Living recommends painting a piece of furniture, such as a bench or armchair, in a vivid white and re-covering the seat in a print reminiscent of spring for gold and white interiors with a different charm. Transform bedside tables, armoires and chests with new paint and door knobs. If you want a bolder finish, choose mint, pink, aqua, pr navy instead of white.

Put a modern twist on classic Parisian sensibilities with a white slipper bed that provides the perfect backdrop for all the pops of gold. Empty gold leaf frames are layered behind framed drawings adding surprise to this classic bedroom.

Bathroom Inspiration:

Anna Braund has created a peaceful yet interesting bathroom by mixing white shaker-style cabinets with a beige marble vanity and winter white walls. The under-mount basins provide a clean line allowing the gold tapware, door handles, and mirrors to shine.

Kitchen Inspiration:

This is a slightly different take on the white and gold interiors theme by the addition of lower cabinets in ‘Downpipe’ by Farrow & Ball. The upper cabinets are painted ‘Decorator’s White’ by Benjamin Moore. Designer, Elizabeth Lawson, has designed this is a transitional kitchen with farmhouse sink, shaker-style cabinets, marble bench tops, stone tile splash back, stainless steel appliances and hardwood floors. Perfection.

For a small, galley kitchen that’s open plan, Caitlin Wilson has created wonderful balance with white, recessed panel cabinets, matching paneled appliances and a dark, hardwood floor. In keeping with a very popular trend, she has included an island.

One of the most popular kitchen designs for people under 35, excepting Modern, is Scandinavian. Light hardwood floors balance the white splash back, white, flat-panel cabinets, matching paneled appliances and ‘invisible’ under mount sink in this Nordic-inspired kitchen by ZEITRAUM.
