We all have days where we don’t feel great about ourselves. Sometimes these days can turn into weeks or months. Over time we can begin to lose confidence.

Maybe you’re noticing signs of ageing. Perhaps you don’t feel great due to gaining some weight. Or it might be a case of your body changing after having a baby. Whatever the reason, do you look in the mirror and don’t like what you see? Well, there are a few simple things you can do to feel great again.

Go To The Hairdresser

A woman’s hair is said to be her ‘crowning glory.’ But when life gets busy our usual beauty regimes slip. Our hair can be one of the first places to show neglect. Weather, central heating, and air conditioning can all cause it to get dry and brittle. As can skipping your regular hydrating treatments, such as masks and oils.

If it’s been awhile since you had a trim your hair probably doesn’t feel it’s best. Visiting the hairdresser and having your hair pampered can make you feel great. Remember what it feels like to walk out of a salon with a new do? Not only will it make your hair look healthier or give you an exciting new look, it can be nice just spending a bit of time on yourself.

Have a Little Work Done

Sometimes the healthiest diet, best exercise regime and most efficient skincare routine aren’t enough to fix certain issues. If you’re insecure about something and it can be fixed, why would you choose to live with it? Non-surgical procedures such as botox can be an effective way to rewind the years, by softening and smoothing fine lines. Plus it can be done in a matter of hours. And unlike regular cosmetic surgery, there’s no recovery time needed.
If your issues are slightly more severe, you could consider more invasive treatments. Maybe you’ve always disliked your nose, or wanted to improve your teeth? Providing you research everything carefully, something like this could really bring back your self-esteem

Buy Clothes That Fit

Buying new clothes can be a joy when you feel good about yourself. But if you’ve gained a bit of weight recently or just aren’t feeling your best, it can be tempting to just stick with ‘whatever fits for now’. All the while hoping and praying that you miraculously fit into your jeans again at some point.
This can be useful in the short term, and can be good motivation to get back to the shape you want. However, if a significant amount of time has passed and you’ve stayed the same- it’s time to embrace your new shape! Shop for the size that you are, not the size you want to be (or plan on getting back to in six months). Clothes that fit and flatter you, regardless of your size, will make you feel so much better about yourself. You may well get back down to the weight that you want in the future. But at least in the ‘here and now’ you have outfits to wear that you know make you feel great and look fabulous.
