The colourful street style was in full force in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week NYFW. What I mean by colourful street style is actually street style with oomph and personality, not necessarily bright colours; although there was plenty of that too.
Come rain or shine the chic New Yorker weathered the day in style. From baby blue and pastels to strong jewel colours, colourful street style was out in force. No shrinking violets, but a riot of silhouettes, combinations, chic style and Big Apple individuality.
I love the independent, individual vibe of New York; anything goes. But what you see during fashion week is colourful street style that works – there’s a sense of co-ordination, to various degrees, from women who are very daring through to women who are essentially classically stylish, but with a TWIST.
Take your fashion cues from colourful street style and make it your own. Have a nonchalant air – a don’t care attitude – and you’ll fit right in. New York women strut proudly because they know they look hot – they don’t actually care what you think – they suit themselves and show their personalities through fashion and accessories. Flea marker finds parade alongside couture – and, if we are honest, most of the time we can’t tell the difference.
Whatever your passion, whatever your vibe, whatever your personality, you’ll find inspiration from the colourful street style at New York Fashion Week.
